The scenario

You're running the door at an event with a simple check-in board: a list of guests, each with a checkbox you tick when they walk in. You can also bump a guest up the list or remove a no-show. It looks fine until the list changes shape. Check in a few people, then remove someone in the middle who isn't coming — and the green checkmarks suddenly belong to the wrong guests. People who never arrived show as checked in; people standing right in front of you show as not. Reordering does the same thing: move a guest up and their "arrived" status stays behind on whoever takes their old spot. Nothing errors. Each checkbox works perfectly on its own — the trouble only appears when guests are added, removed, or reordered. The checkmarks seem to care about *where* a guest is in the list, not *who* they are.

What done looks like

- A guest's checked-in status stays with that guest, not their position in the list - Removing a no-show leaves everyone else's checkmarks exactly as they were - Moving a guest up or down carries their checked-in status along with them
